Групата беше номинирана през декември миналата година в категорията за „Най – добро метъл изпълнение” с песента си „identity” на световните „Награди ГРАМИ 2016”, редом с Slipknot, Lamb of God,Sevendust и обявените по - късно за победители - Ghost.Август Burns Red е американскa метълкор група от Манхайм, Пенсилвания. Създадена през 2003 г., групата започва първите си изпълнения, докато по-голямата част от членовете са последна година в гимназията. Скоро започват да свирят около Ланкастър, след кото подписват със CI Records. Следват договори със Solid State Records и накрая - Fearless Records. Видни характеристики на музиката им включват тежък брейкдаун и неравноделни рифове, а текстовете им често са на тема депресия, социална толерантност и скръб от смъртта на любим човек. Последният албум на групата, Found in Far Away Places е издаден на 29 юни 2015 г. Август Burns Red обикновено се определят като метълкор банда, но самите те твърдят, че споделят черти от други жанрове, като прогресив метъл и траш метъл. Групата също е определяна като мелодичен метълкор. Песните им са с влияния от Meshuggah,Symphony in Peril , Pelican & The Dillinger Escape Plan, а също такаBetween The Buried And Me, Misery Signals и Hopesfall. За разлика от други метълкор вокалисти, Джейк Luhrs не смесва чисти вокали с крясъци, но пък понякога добавя речитативи. Като пример, в песента им "Spirit Breaker" Luhrs чете писмо. Макар групата да няма нищо против да бъде класифицирана като метълкор, китаристът им JB Brubaker е развил отвращение към много от групите в жанра: "Имам чувството, че всеки, който може да вземе една китара и да научи метълкор риф, заедно с барабанист свирещ траш ритми върху брекдаун се нарича метълкор. The band was nominated last December as Best Metal Performance with its song "identity" Awards 2016 Grams, alongside Slipknot, Lamb of God, Sevendust, and later announced winners - Ghost. August Burns Red is an American metal band from Mannheim, Pennsylvania. Established in 2003, the band began their first performances, while the majority of members have been in the high school for the past year. Soon they started playing around Lancaster after they signed with CI Records. Following are contracts with Solid State Records and finally - Fearless Records. Their prominent features include heavy breakdowns and uneven riffs, and their lyrics are often about depression, social tolerance, and the grief of the death of a loved one. The last album of the band, Found in Far Away Places, was released on June 29, 2015. August Burns Red is usually considered a metal band, but they themselves claim to share traits of other genres such as progressive metal and thrash metal. The band is also referred to as melodic metalcore. Their songs are influenced by Meshuggah, Symphony in Peril, Pelican & The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Between The Buried And Me, Misery Signals and Hopesfall. Unlike other metallic vocalists, Jake Luhrs does not mix clean vocals with shouting, but sometimes adds recitatives. As an example, in their song "Spirit Breaker" Luhrs reads a letter. While the band does not mind being classified as a metalcore, their guitarist, JB Brubaker, has evicted many of the groups in the genre: "I have the feeling that anyone who can take a guitar and learn a metalcore reef together with a drummer playing thrash rhythms on a bracelet is called a metalcore It looks almost like a working formula and for me metal has never had a formula ".
